Albert Z. // THE QUIET ONES

We are the quiet ones.

The introverts.

The shut-ins.

It may seem like we don’t have

a care in this world,

passively staring off

into a most pale space.

But the space we stare into

is bustling with

activity.

Our chaotic minds

so condensed within

our shy bodies.

So diverse are we,

some see inaccessible beauty,

others the bland misery

of this conflicted world.

Trapped in

our own birdcages,

fake memories

and false faces.

What is hiding behind

those emotionless shells

of our unrelatable seclusion.

All you see is the mask

of our willful solemnity.

What accusations

or judgements

could you possibly make,

when

we

have never

existed.
