A dark shade of blue
bleeds into the new day’s first hue,
replacing last night’s fluorescent crescent.
I breathe in the scent of the aromatic trees,
those huge looming plant creatures
those frail splintered branches.
The sky’s light blue
begins to mix with the blooming watercolors
of the day’s candlelight orange.
The car’s lion roar
brings my mind back from afar,
the noxious smell of oil
mixing with that of swampy soil.
The air is cool,
the morning fog as thick as gruel;
only the road in front of me,
is all that I see.
