Chloe Hudson Prock // TAURANGA BAY

Whisperings of sea

Kiss salt onto my cheeks.

I am alone

Surrounded

By the infinite stretch of

My once world.

Mist slinks slyly

Dragging through

The valley, skulking towards

My sight.

Soft

Gray

Blanket smothers tide.

The sun glints off of

Diamond cuts

And the unseasoned suns retreat

To the dusky

Abyss of past night.

In the exposing light of day

The blanket dissipates like a

Dirty pile of ice, melting into

Nothingness

Gone.

I still stand

Watchful,

Surrounded,

Alone.

Then I too dissipate like

The faint memory

Of  dawn.
