Chloe Scopa // TO THE ONE WHO RESCUED ME

Dear anonymous,

I’d like to thank you

Thank you for being the one

Who gets it all

The one who has opened my burdened eyes,

Creating an exit for undesirable visions to depart

And a path for faith to shine through

Thank you for holding my hand,

A gesture for ardor, but even more

A bond saving me from extinction

Thank you for infecting me with courage

Throughout my vessels, my limbs and my heart

For they have been pulsing a frenzy of compassion

Through each and every vein

Triggered from your inspirational touch

To this nameless entity

I kiss your hands that cradle in mine,

For you have thrown my heartache to foreign heights

And have planted harmony in a garden of youth

So thank you

Thank you for understanding, and for teaching me

How to run from the assertive

How to omit the wicked

And how to hang my own curtain of ferocity;

A barrier of hope in which

Isolates others from

Murdering my own pursuit of happiness
