Daniel Huang // BALLOON

Up, up, up

The ground only gets farther and farther away

The New England wind rushes by me and my tail shivers

I’m rising faster now

The cars are miniscule, flashing lights below me

I enter the clouds and I’m blinded by white

The wispy cotton candy soothes my taut skin

And then I burst through

Into the beautiful starry sky

I wish I could go on forever

Through this peaceful sky

But I can’t

All my friends are long gone

Going on their own journeys

Drifting farther and farther away from me

My skin is stretching

I feel like a bomb that’s about to explode

And I do
