JiHoon Ko // REINCARNATION

The once roaring mountain stream

Has been reduced to a trickle

Searching blindly through jagged rocks

For a path to freedom

Clogged

Halted

By tarnished bottles and

Ripped plastic bags

A lone adventurer

Leaps over the pitiful stream

As if to say

“I have conquered you!”

Reincarnation

The river roars and growls

Biting at the feet of terrified hikers

In furious remembrance of the

Waste

Which had vainly tried to halt it

Now battered against hard stone

In futile surrender

By foam-crested fists
