Mudit Shukla // STUCK IN GLORY

I stand in the center

The center of the roaring crowd, vibrating my ear drums

Where the war zone of runners never stands still

The center of the tensity

Where sweat beads slowly down coaches’ foreheads

I stand where the vigorous ringing of the final lap bell echoes throughout the rambunctious stadium.

I stand where legends are born

in victory and defeat, pride and devastation

I stand in glory

Where thousands of people are together

Wearing shirts of loyalty

Screaming, chanting in unision

Their words fuel feet

Six pairs of feet running in their own footsteps

Their goal to reach where they have already passed

Stuck in a loop

Stuck where I stand.
