Odysseas M. // THE WORLD FROM A TREE

His branches rock and scare

Up a flock of birds

Greeting me

I wave in reply as I walk

Along by the politely smiling

Tree

With a branch

But a stump within

Reachable a jump

He invites me up

For a climb

With resin

On hands and a head

Void of plans

I ascend

Up the ancient

Pine

Up and Up I go

Wondering what he will show me

When I reach the top

Of the world

I see farther and farther into a land

Without border as

A beautiful earth unfurls

I finally slow

For in heart

I know eventually

I must descend

But I look above at the sky

And cannot but wonder

Why this must all come

to an end
